THE 5 WATT AMPLIFIER
THE TDA905 5 WATT AUDIO AMPLIFIER
The 5 watt amplifier is based on the TDA1905 integrated circuit. It is a mono amplifier, two units are required for stereo operation, one for each channel. The amplifier runs off a 9VDC battery. Audio output is to an external 8 ohm speaker. Alternatively, a 12 volt DC plug pack is recommended for lengthy use. An on-board LED provides power indication.

The first standard, the design brief, requires you to come up with a need or opportunity revolving around the 5 watt amplifier or other chosen product. The following document is an example of a student's work about a storage unit who got an achieved grade. It's in two parts. I want you to appreciate the amount of work this student has put into his brief.

RESEARCH MATERIAL
Create a table or list of the following materials, Plastic or Acrylic, wood and metal. Make brief comments under properties, advantages, disadvantages and appropriateness for your own project. Check out the following example below.
Other standards
Outcome development and evaluation: Investigate a context to communicate potential outcomes. Evaluate these against attributes; select and develop an outcome in keeping with the identified attributes.
Technological modelling: Understand that functional models are used to represent reality and test design concepts and that prototypes are used to test technological outcomes.
Technological products: Understand that technological products are made from materials that have performance properties.
