basic differentiation
Isaac Newton and Gotfied Leibnitz were two rival mathematicians who each claimed they had invented calculus. Although they spent a a lot of time fighting each other in court as to who invented it first, the general consensus today is that they both invented it but in differnt forms. They both use a different way of recording the functions in calculus. Which notation you use really depends on the type of problem in question. Either way both methods should be learned. Choose the notation that matches the problem.
