HOUSE OF CARDS EXAMPLE
caution - achieved only!
PROBLEM
I wonder how likely it is that I draw out 3 red cards from a pack of 10 cards? I think it is unlikely, perhaps I might get it once.
pLAN
I have 10 cards in my pack, 3 red and 4 blue and 3 green. I will shuffle the cards face down and turn up three cards at random. I will record the results and then put it into a table. I will then return the cards to the pack and reshuffle them. I will repeat this process 50 times. From the data I will draw a bar graph. The possible outcomes are:
0 red cards
1 red card
2 red cards
3 red cards
0 red cards
1 red card
2 red cards
3 red cards
DATA
ANALYSIS
Looking at my graph and data I got 1 red card the most and this happened 44% of the time. I am unlikely to get 3 red cards. In the experiment it happened only 2 times. I got 1 red card 22 times or 44%, no red cards 15 times or 30% and 2 red cards 11 times or 22%.
CONCLUSION
I am unlikely to get 3 red cards because I got it only 2 times out of 50.
