In conclusion there appears to be a definite increase of logging being carried out in New Zealand's plantation forests. Logging has increased from 4770 million cubic meters to 7500 million cubic meters from 2000 to 2013. This has been shown by the positive trend in the graph especially over the last 5 years possibly due to the Christchurch earthquake and the export market. Predictions indicate that this is likely to continue over the next two years by increasing to about 8233 million cubic meters by the 4th quarter of 2014.
