- Jan and Maria estimate that for each day they are in Spain, between them they will need on average NZ$200 when they are not on the bus trip.
- Jan earns $1081 each week. Maria earns $881 each week. Jan is able to save two fifths of his income and Maria, 38% of her income to put towards the trip.
- The cost for the return air tickets is $1100 each plus a 1.5% surcharge.
- The cost of travel insurance is $295 plus GST (15%) for the two of them.
- The three week bus trip costs 1550 Euros per person.
- Euros are used as currency in Spain.
- The Exchange rate is: 1 NZ Dollar = 0.6 Euros.
