RATIONAL INDICES
Rational numbers are those that can be written as a fraction. Examples of numbers that cannot be written as a fraction are Pi (3.1415926...) the ratio of the diameter to its circle circumference and Phi (1.6180339…), the golden number. These numbers are called irrational numbers and they keep on going without repeating. Currently Pi can be written to over 1 million digits using computers. Phi is used in calculations with the golden ratio.
